Detection System
Learn About Us
The project is based on incorporating the concept of 'Raman scattering' into a smaller and more practical system. The filters within the system sequentially cause the separation of light wavelengths passing through water containing microplastics, and these wavelength data are transferred to an online environment through various sensors. As a result of this study, we can not only determine whether the water sample is drinkable in terms of microplastics but also observe that it delivers much more accurate and reliable performance compared to other methods.
Low Energy Consumption
In general, the system does not require high electricity or energy consumption. The low energy needed by the laser that emits the beams for the microplastic analysis process is supplied through the solar cells within the system. Low-capacity solar panels installed on the device enable renewable energy generation and storage, allowing the batteries to be charged and energy to be stored as backup.
A Feasible and Eco-Friendly Method
In contrast to common ways of detection, PlastiScan utilizes a practicable and convenient method enabling the usage of device ordinarily. The system predicating the light refraction upon microplastic detection makes its integration into our daily lives and application in broad areas much easier, and also offers a greener and eco-friendly process with zero emission.
Easy and Quick Screening
Thanks to the CCD sensor and Bluetooth system located in the final stage of the system, the fast and reliable results of the obtained data which are notifications about the microplastic level and whether it exceeds the hazardous threshold can be easily observed from a phone, computer, or any technological device to which the system is connected. The data can be displayed in the system as numbers or visualized in graphs.
