Arda Bora Karahan
Founder
PlastiScan was founded in 2024 by Arda Bora Karahan. After reading a report at a climate conference he attended, where he saw the rapidly growing problem of microplastics both in his country and globally, Bora realized that this issue urgently needed to be resolved and began searching for a solution. PlastiScan was established when the foundations of a unique system were laid, one that differs from other detection methods and is sensitive to the environment and ecosystem. As the founder of this project, I remain committed to my mission from day one and continue to work with determination to ensure PlastiScan fulfills its important role and purpose for the ecosystem in the future.
Our Mission
Our purpose is not only to measure the levels of microplastics in water sources and identify drinkable water sources but also to raise awareness about the rapidly growing microplastic problem, which is increasing at an unprecedented rate globally, and to highlight the seriousness of this issue to all communities.
While PlastiScan measures microplastic levels in water sources, it prioritizes both human and environmental health, offering people a simple, convenient, yet effective method. With all this in mind, PlastiScan's primary mission is to deliver healthy water to everyone in the easiest and quickest way possible, while preserving nature.

Our Vision
Access to drinkable water is one of the most fundamental rights for every human being and must be provided to every individual by governments. However, data shows that 75,000 people experience water scarcity each year, highlighting the urgency of the water crisis.
The microplastic problem in water, which has emerged particularly in the last decade, is rapidly increasing the risk of water pollution, making preventive precautions essential. Aware of this danger, PlastiScan’s vision is to ensure access to clean water for every individual worldwide. It aims to lead by raising awareness and encouraging action among people to address this critical issue.
